The Veilwyn benefits from a Pack Boost, which also applies to its clones. Combined with its Freeze debuff, this makes it extremely effective when fighting in groups.
The Veilwyn can evolve into two powerful forms: the gothic, artificial Malwyn, or the swift and agile Solwyn.
Neither form is tamable by default. Instead, they are obtained by evolving a Veilwyn using either Corrupted Vulpite (for Malwyn) or Pristine Vulpite (for Solwyn).
Evolution becomes available once a Companion Veilwyn’s “Adventure!” buff reaches 100%. At that point, force-feeding the appropriate Vulpite will cause the Veilwyn to disappear into the warp and re-emerge in its evolved form, determined by the type of Vulpite used.

Solwyn applies stacks of Frosting with its attacks. Once a target reaches 30 stacks, it triggers a one-time effect that triples the damage received.
Riding or standing near a Solwyn grants 562 Hypothermic Insulation, providing strong protection in extreme cold environments.
The Solwyn can transform into an Angelic Snowflake, functioning similarly to a Cryopod. When released using this method, the Solwyn is also immune to Cryo Sickness.
Solwyn excels at mobility, with the ability to scale vertical terrain and create ice bridges in midair, allowing it to traverse otherwise unreachable paths. Combined with its naturally fast movement speed, this makes the Solwyn one of the best mounts for exploring the Lost City. It is especially valuable when Thralls are hostile, as its mobility allows you to bypass most ground-based threats and avoid dangerous Lost creatures.
Unlike its counterpart, the Solwyn, the Malwyn is built for aggressive combat. While it has more limited climbing capabilities, it greatly surpasses Solwyn in raw fighting potential.
Malwyn can apply powerful stacking debuffs that both increase damage output and weaken enemies. At 20 stacks, the effect significantly reduces the target’s overall effectiveness.
With its strong debuffs and high-damage teleportation attack, the Malwyn excels in boss encounters, providing both strong offensive power and valuable battlefield utility.
While mounted on a Malwyn, you gain reduced detection from Thralls, making it significantly easier to move through hostile areas without drawing attention.
