Functions as a mobile feeding trough for baby creatures, requiring the appropriate food type the baby would normally consume. Babies will first eat from their own inventory before using a Maeguana with Nursing enabled. Upon reaching the Juvenile stage, creatures will prioritize their inventory, then nearby feeding troughs, before relying on Maeguanas. Leveling the Food stat increases Nursing Effectiveness, extending the range of the baby-feeding aura. When used alongside a mate-boosted female Procoptodon, food consumption is reduced while still providing the imprinting bonus.
Can carry up to four babies using its saddle baskets, including enemy babies. Most creatures can be carried up to 99.9 percent maturation and are automatically released once fully grown. Unlike Procoptodon, carried babies are allowed to grow normally while being transported. Not recommended for use in confined spaces when raising very large creatures. Certain species cannot be carried, including Carcharodontosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Managarmr, Bloodstalker, aquatic creatures, or wild babies.
If you use a female Procoptodon that is mate-boosted (meaning a male Procoptodon is nearby) at the same time as a Maeguana: • Babies still receive the Procoptodon imprinting bonus • Food consumption is reduced, so babies eat slower • The Maeguana continues to act as a feeding source, as long as it has the correct food In short: The Procoptodon handles imprinting efficiency, and the Maeguana handles feeding. Used together, you get imprinting bonuses while spending less food.
Lays eggs of random quality at irregular intervals, unaffected by Oviraptor bonuses. Egg quality is displayed upon pickup, with drop chances varying by tier.
